Senior Navigators
Senior Navigators is for youth aged 11-17.
Advancement through Senior Navigator levels is based on experience and knowledge. Youth build self- esteem, respect for others, and independence by participating in camping trips, hiking adventures, games, activities, and community service. Senior Navigators learn to take control of their scouting experience by developing leadership skills. In addition to the achievement levels, Senior Navigators may earn specific achievement awards for various skills, such as backpacking, sailing, and outdoor cooking.
SHADOW: the first achievement level for Senior Navigators. Scouts who have achieved the Shadow rank have gone through the basics of first aid, survival skills, ecology, and the fundamentals of the Navigators USA Moral Compass and Cardinal Points.
TRACKER: the second level. To achieve this rank, youth go on camping trips, learn more advanced first aid and survival skills, and participate in community service. This level focuses on teamwork and cooperation.
PILOT: the third level. The Pilot rank involves working on more advanced first aid and survival skills, as well as developing leadership skills. These youth begin taking on a more active role in their scouting experience.
NAVIGATOR: the final level. Scouts become leaders of the meetings, trips, events, and community service projects. They help younger members advance and work on mastering more of the requirements for the Summit Achievement Award.
SUMMIT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: this is the equivalent to the BSA's Eagle Award and the GSUSA's Gold Award. After completing all the skills requirements and an intensive community service project approved by the Summit Achievement Board, a Navigator can attain this highest honor.
