Navigators USA Chapter 58
Navigators USA is a gender-inclusive scouting organization committed to opening minds and creativity through direct contact with nature. The core of our program is the Navigators Moral Compass, which reads:
As a Navigator I promise to do my best to create a world free of prejudice and ignorance.
To treat people of every race, creed, lifestyle and ability with dignity and respect.
To strengthen my body and improve my mind to reach my full potential.
To protect our planet and preserve our freedom.
Chapter 58 is participant-led, meaning that scouts have a direct influence over choosing and leading the activities in which they'd like to participate, so long as those activities promote the mission of the Navigator's Moral Compass. Chapter leaders assist scouts, at an age appropriate level, in developing goals and a schedule of activities. Through our program, navigator scouts develop life, leadership, and team building skills, make new friends, connect with nature, give back to their community, and have a chance to earn badges and an annual achievement award for their dedication to upholding the Moral Compass. Awards and community service hours obtained through Navigators are usable by older youth in applying to schools, jobs, and internship opportunities.
Who We Are
Navigators USA Chapter 58 welcomes children ages 4-17, as well as adult volunteers. Ages are divided into three sections: Stargazers for ages 4-6, Juniors for ages 7-10, and Seniors for ages 11-17.
Our chapter is all volunteer run. Three leaders oversee the program, assist scouts with developing goals and staying on course, and coordinate volunteers. Volunteers are parents and community members who lend their time and talents to teach, lead activities, and present on the various skills and specialties they've developed over their lifetimes. Everyone has a special talent, knowledge, or skill worth sharing and passing on to the next generation.
We welcome people of all genders, races, belief systems, sexualities, lifestyles, and abilities.

Why Navigators USA?
"The Navigators USA mission can be summed up in five easy points:
- To introduce boys and girls ages 5-17 to the great outdoors through camping, hiking, skiing, canoeing, rafting, and other adventure activities.
- To meet regularly to learn and practice wilderness skills and safety procedures.
- To help members participate in group games, sports, and community service.
- To develop social and group-building skills by planning frequent trips to natural settings during the school year.
- To encourage growth in all areas of personal development: social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional. We aim to spark intellectual curiosity in all areas, especially in areas related to the natural sciences and nature."
